As you are aware the Education Review Office visited Island Bay School in July 2018 The staff of the Education Review Office (ERO) usually visit schools every 3-5 years to conduct an external review of programmes.
This review adds another lens on our school's self-review processes, investigating the following evaluative questions:
Equity and excellence – achievement of valued outcomes for students
How well is the school achieving equitable and excellent outcomes for all its students
How well is the school accelerating learning for those Māori and other students who need this?
School conditions for equity and excellence – processes and practices
What school processes and practices are effective in enabling achievement of equity and excellence, and acceleration of learning?
What further developments are needed in school processes and practices for achievement of equity and excellence, and acceleration of learning?

ERO will be returning to our school in 4-5 years.
Most schools are reviewed on a 3 year cycle, however, a 4-5 year return time is given where "high-quality performance is evident and ERO have no material concerns about the education and safety of students".
