Artsplash 2021 “Reach for the Stars”

Concert Dates: Monday 13 September starting at 5.00 pm at the Michael Fowler Centre.

Your child will need to be there at 4.45 pm.

There will be a final rehearsal on the morning of Monday 13 September at Michael Fowler Centre.

We will travel to and from the Michael Fowler Centre by bus on Monday morning. We will leave school at 9.00am and return by 12.15pm. There is a $5.00 charge for this bus. All children who are singing at the concert need to attend this rehearsal.

Permission is required for the concert participation and rehearsal.

The details for Artsplash payment and permission is on your child’s Kindo account. You can also pay for this and give permission at the school office.

What to wear at the performance:

The children will wear an Island Bay Tee shirt, either the navy blue school one or one of the coloured Island Bay Tee shirts that are available. They will need either jeans, trousers, shorts, leggings or skirt that is blue or black .

Costume Props:

We have been asked to remind the children to bring and wear bright colourful hats or caps for the final song. Hats that you already have at home can be decorated. Shops like Uncle Bill’s or the $2 shops have a range of sparkly hats on sale.

The children singing in the choir do not pay. Tickets are needed for the audience of family members only. You can order your tickets through Kindo from Monday 16 August. They are $5.00 each under Artsplash 2021. * there are two tickets allocated for each child. If you need more that's fine, but we will need to have a waitlist. There will be door sales available on the day of the concert too.

Songs to Learn:

There are 9 songs for the children to learn by memory. Can you please help them with this - it’s a big effort. Thanks to all the families who have helped their children to make spotify playlists.

Please do contact me at any stage if you have any questions about the concert or the music. It’s going to be a fabulous show and the children will love experiencing the atmosphere and excitement of being on stage at the Michael Fowler Centre.

Thanks so much for your support.

Kind regards
