CHILDREN'S ATHLETICS

The Wellington Harrier Athletic Club usually provides an October holiday programme and regular Saturday morning athletics to help children prepare for their term 4 school and inter-school events.

Wellington City Council has closed the grass at Newtown Park, and the whole of the top field.

We will therefore be unable to offer the holiday programme, but our full range of activities will be available in term 4.

The Athletics New Zealand “Get Set, Go” programme will be offered to children aged 4 to 6 (inclusive) and “Run, Jump, Throw” for those aged 7 to 14. In addition the latter group will have the opportunity for extra training for competitive events.

Enrolments will be open at Newtown Park between 11.30 and 12.30.on Saturday 29 September and the full programme will start straight after the holidays, on Saturday 20 October at 11.30 a.m.

In addition there will be a separate programme for all children with disabilities, starting at 10.a.m. on 20 October.
