en people think about cross country running, they usually go with the hardiest description they can think of - mud up to your waist, gale force winds, rain streaking across your face and down your eyelashes. And they’re not wrong.

But every year the Island Bay School cross country seems to strike a bright winter day with the sun streaking across Wakefield Park.

This year's cross country was simply an absolute joy to be part of. All the kids dug deep, and tried their best, with determination and smiles etched on their faces. It's important we acknowledge all our runners, Alice and the teams of parents who made this such a great success.

Check out some great photos of the action here.

Have a great weekend,

Ngā mihi
