Important update for Alert Level 2 - 28 Feb

Hi everyone,

Last night the Prime Minister announced that from 6am this morning (28 Feb), Auckland would go to Alert Level 3 and the rest of NZ would go to Alert Level 2, for seven days.

At Alert Level 2, schools are open for all age groups, but must ensure additional public health control measures are in place. This includes:

  • Physical distancing where possible

  • Good hand hygiene and cough/sneeze etiquette

  • Regularly cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces

  • Ensuring parents contact trace/scan in

At Island Bay School this week:

Still on this week

  • Whole School Movin' March - Tues Rodeo (bring bike/helmet) and Fri Parade (dress up & decorated bikes etc) as planned for the kids but NO PARENTS PLEASE

  • Swimming lessons for Rimurimu, Tui and Korimako as normal.


  • Teacher Professional Development with Murray Gadd

  • Tuesday's Parent Information Evening - POSTPONED until 10 March
