School Update #1 - Island Bay School is CLOSED - 18 Aug 2021

Updated: Aug 19

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Island Bay School is now CLOSED and will not be open to students tomorrow. We are at Level 4 from 11.59pm, 17 August 2021 until midnight on Friday 19 August. Please note this also means our playgrounds, courts and turf areas are closed.

We would like to reassure you that there have been no known cases of COVID-19 in our school community, however the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and community are our top priority and we are following Government directives for this closure.

Please note we will not be rolling out our online distance learning this week. Should a Level 3 or 4 lockdown extend beyond the weekend, we will be in touch on Sunday night with information and instructions regarding the distance learning plan.

In the meantime, over the next 3 days, encourage your children to relax and enjoy family time.

We will keep you updated on the school’s operating status via email and the School App going forward.

Visit https://covid19.govt.nz/ for more information.

Stay safe,

Deb Fenton
