Māori Language Week - Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori 2021 at Island Bay School!

This week Island Bay School participated in the Māori Language Moment 2021, which aimed to make history, help shape the future and set a new record.

During Te Wiki o te Reo Māori last year, 1.1 million people united for the biggest Māori language event in history.

On Tuesday we were part of the 2021 virtual movement, aiming for 2 million of us to set the world record for the biggest single, simultaneous celebration of an endangered language. As part of this challenge we listened, learned, spoke, sang, read or played games using the reo.
