Rimu SPARK projects - from Vets to Fashion Designers!

Updated: Nov 21, 2020

Here are some great examples of the Spark project process from our Rimu Hub last week.

As part of their research, a number of our children interviewed our local vet Nicky Papps, Doris de Pont (fashion designer, and director of the New Zealand Fashion Museum) and fashion designer Ingrid Starnes (her designs have been worn by Jacinda Ardern).

Interacting with adults in a 'professional' sense is just one of the skills that these students were able to practice as part of their ongoing Spark projects that will be shared with our community next week. The students learnt that people working in their field of interesting would be the best to talk to. They learnt the skills of writing open ended questions and conducting interviews.

Doris gave us this feedback: Thank you - I thought their questions were really strong and clear - with the potential for answers they can do something with for themselves.

Well done!
