Rongohia te Hau - Whānau survey results

Island Bay School has been part of a survey called Rongohia te Hau. It is a tool that gives schools a picture of their pedagogy and co-constructs a process for understanding classroom practice across a school.

The evidence that is gathered tells Island Bay school how they can change their pedagogy if they want to make more of a difference for their Māori students. It offers a snapshot - a slice in time - that provides a representative sample across the school that gives a picture of what the pedagogy could look like on any given day.

The surveys gathered so far seem to suggest that there are good relationships between students and teachers. We will continue to uses these results to strengthen our relational and pedagogical practises in 2022. See the findings below or download this pdf.
