Term 1 Pōwhiri - Thurs 25 Feb, 9.15-10.15am

The pōwhiri takes place in the school hall and is to officially welcome our new entrants, their families and other new teachers, students and families to our school. The whole school attends and all are welcome. The ceremony usually takes about 40 minutes. New families taking part in the pōwhiri should meet Maria Whiting (our Māori leader) in the Learning Hub next to the office at 8.55am to learn more about what happens during a pōwhiri and practice a waiata (song). Please stay on afterwards for some morning tea in the staffroom.
