VP Camp Kaitoke Information 2021

Updated: Nov 11, 2021

We are excited to be heading to Camp Kaitoke for our 2021 Victory Park Camp in week 5, Term 4. We will be spending three days and two nights at camp. This is the first year Island Bay School will be visiting Camp Kaitoke, and we are excited to have this new experience. We will also be going as a whole senior group this year, with Tūī and Korimako hubs together on camp at the same time. Camp is one of our favourite learning experiences of the school year and we are looking forward to our time away with your children. For more information about the camp: https://ycentral.nz/kaitoke/

The dates for camp are Monday 15th November - Wednesday 17th November.

For parent helpers coming on camp, we will have a camp parent briefing meeting to go over the specifics of parent help in Week 1 of Term 4.

The cost for camp is approximately $270 per child. This cost will be confirmed by the end of this term. This fee covers transport via bus to Kaitoke, accommodation, meals, and camp activities. Trained instructors are provided by the camp for all activities. This camp fee also absorbs the cost of camp parent volunteers who attend the camp. When the cost is confirmed it will be payable on Kindo Payables, which means you will be able to pay as much or as little as you want at a time; Kindo will keep a running balance of what you have paid and what you still owe. Camp payment is due by Tuesday 9th November unless arranged otherwise - please let the office know if you wish to make alternative arrangements.

Please complete this form with all relevant information and return no later than 12pm on Monday, 27th September. This allows teachers time to prepare relevant camp documentation and allocate parent helpers. Please complete a separate form for each child attending camp if you have more than one child at VP.

Top reminders here:

1. Camp on Monday - please be at school before 8.40am so that we can load buses and be on the road by 9am. We will be back at school at 3pm on Wednesday. 2. Camp parent helpers please also meet at school before driving to camp. 3 Bring morning tea and lunch for Monday - pack more food than usual. 4. Bring sunhat and water bottle. 5. Any medications must be in a bag and clearly labelled with child's name. 6. Check Seesaw for camp gear list.

Looking forward to it!
